Storage

Store your jewelry/hair accessories in an airtight container, in the included jewelry box or in a jewelry box. Avoid paper storage boxes (not intended for jewelry) as these may be made of acid-treated paper/contain glue, which can create a chemical reaction and discolor the jewelry.

Store your jewelry/hair accessories separately (don't stack them) to avoid scratches and tangled chains.

Use

Jewelry/hair accessories made of precious metals such as gold and silver should not be exposed to water, bright light, excessive heat or cold, or chemicals. Therefore, remove them when showering or bathing, exercising, sunbathing, or using a sauna (or opening the oven door).

Jewelry/hair accessories are sensitive to chemicals, so always put your jewelry on last - after your skin lotion has dried and you have applied makeup, perfume, hair products, etc.

After use, gently wipe each accessory with a soft cloth to remove any makeup and product residue.

Cleaning

Avoid using harsh chemicals and cleaning agents. Rinse the jewelry/hair accessories gently with warm water and wipe with a soft cloth, allow to dry completely. It is especially important not to use any chemicals on jewelry/hair accessories with pearls, crystals and cubic zirconia. Silver and rhodium products can be cleaned with a silver polishing cloth.

Natural protection

Silver naturally oxidizes and darkens, even when in contact with salts and minerals on our skin. Jewelry/hair accessories plated with rhodium (a precious metal) are more resistant to oxidation and have a higher protection against scratches. Rhodium means that the jewelry/hair accessories will stay nice longer and you won't have to clean them as often.

The precious metal on plated jewelry/hair accessories wears down over time and the underlying material (can be silver or brass) becomes visible. This is a natural process for this type of manufacturing technique. Jewelry from our own brand Selected by C has an extra thick gold layer (on top of recycled silver) of 2 microns, which means that they retain their gold color for a long time. But you can influence the rate of wear by how you use and clean your jewelry.
